It is an exciting time to be part of the Chickasha Chamber! Ribbon cutting event invitations are going out left and right. The most recent celebrations have been at Tammie's Bling Boutique and the Salvation Army of Grady and Caddo Counties.
Ribbon cuttings have a long tradition with the Chickasha Chamber. A 1984 Annual Report of the Chickasha Chamber boosted more than 80 different ground-breakings, dedications, and ribbon-cuttings. More so, ribbon cuttings have been a tradition throughout the history of the United States and Europe. During the opening of the Disneyland Monorail in 1959, one executive said, "ribbon cuttings have always heralded the arrival of fresh wonders and great excitement."
Much like at Walt Disney, the modern-day ribbon-cutting ceremonies the Chamber has adopted represent new beginnings. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will often include government officials, neighboring business owners, community partners and the community at large.
A red ribbon is stretched across the front of the business by Chamber Ambassadors to welcome new partners into the Chamber Family. These events are an important first promotion and connection with the Chickasha business community. Everyone gathers around behind the ribbon and the business owner(s) prepare to cut the ribbon with our oversized, blue scissors. The ribbon is cut, the crowd goes wild and pictures are taken.
The Chickasha Chamber of Commerce looks forward to future ribbon cuttings and continuing to create a thriving community where individuals want to live, work and spend their money.
