#TheGoodStuff Positivity...It's contagious
A new Facebook page was created last week called Chickasha, “Positively Speaking.” There are several Facebook pages that seem to focus on negatively, but this page has been cheered on by over 1,500 members in only a few days.
“Just as someone’s bad mood can rub off on you, positivity, too, may spread,” says Nicholas Christakis. He is a professor of medical sociology and medicine who has researched the contagion of emotions with the larger context of social networks. I believe that Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will, that’s one of the reasons I started this column in 2020.
It's great that our Community has a Facebook group spreading positive news, but it’s more important who started it: Mayor Zach Grayson! That’s right, a local entrepreneur, businessman, veteran and Chickasha Mayor thought it was time to spread the Positive things in Chickasha. What’s even better is how well it has been received and how it has become contagious.
When you look at all the businesses that Zach and his business partner Josh Woods are involved in, it’s impressive. Heck they even started the Oklahoma Food Truck Championship that is coming up in a few weeks. But now it looks like Zach has another new job: Optometrist. Zach has fitted over 1,500 of us with a new set of glasses. We can see so much of what our town has to offer thanks to him. He is a hard working businessman, husband and father, but he is also helping set the Vision for Chickasha. Today…and for the future!
Thinking positive does not make challenges go away, but it helps you form plans and set goals that do. Zig Ziglar has been quoted that “No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.” Mayor Zach Grayson leadership is helping our Community move forward, but he needs all of our support to keep the ball rolling. Positivity is contagious and helps us focus on #TheGoodStuff!
